Three tips for organisers
- A rule that can be explained in one sentence. If the starter has to read out a page, the format is too complicated for a competition. Save the richer formats (Patsome, Cha Cha Cha) for players who already know them.
- Teams that mix abilities. The Handicap Scramble makes this possible without unfairness: in French clubs, the team handicap follows the split from the French golf federation (ffgolf) — 35% of the better player's Index, 15% of their partner's — and this is also the split the app uses. In a competition, check your competition's terms.
- A leaderboard that's easy to read in the clubhouse. That's often where the day is won or lost: a wrong leaderboard, or one that arrives an hour later, takes the shine off for everyone.
